Undoubtedly one of the most complete theatrical adventures and taste almost "prophetic" the great Dario Fo, who, a few days after his death, still turn an endless applause and a tribute grateful. In this comedy, staged for the first time in 1989, Dario Fo is with his unique style some of the most burning social issues: between laughter and paradoxes we talk about drugs, drug addiction, contraception. Burning is primarily the choice of the characters and the setting, in fact the protagonist is a Pope, unnamed but not completely unrecognizable, struck by a strange syndrome that causes the fear of the children, who also has always loved so much and more is the victim a sudden and violent attack of arthritis. Cared for in a very unorthodox from a fake nun who is actually a witch, the Pontiff will come to convert to anti-prohibitionist argument in terms of drugs and birth control, enacting an encyclical on the subject nothing short of revolutionary. View with the eye of the day, this astounding Fo comedy for disturbing glimpse of the future that is: of course inspired by the characteristics of the time Pope nevertheless draws even more, even in the grace of a certain eerie physical resemblance, the marked spirit opening and renewal activities of our contemporary Pope.
