"Paul Puppa law Pirandello, or four stories on stage"
How many institutions around the world also want to pay tribute Goldoni House, 150 years after the birth, with Luigi Pirandello, one of the greatest playwrights of the twentieth century, in 1934 awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature.
It will be with us and for us one of the most authoritative voices in Pirandello, Paul Puppa, professor of theater history at the University Ca 'Foscari of Venice, but also a playwright and performer, who will give us an absolutely particular with the work of' Sicilian author, experience developed specifically for us in a cycle of four meetings entitled "Puppa law Pirandello, or four stories on stage." To amplify the evolution almost alchemical magic of the written word in that recited at the end of the last meeting Paul Puppa will give us, from his "impossible Letters", the reading of a "plausible invention" of correspondence between Italo Svevo and Luigi Pirandello.
1. The lumen of the other house
Carlo Goldoni, 17 January 2017, 17:30
Tullio Buti, the protagonist, is a lone employee ministerial, difficult childhood, living in a rented room from whose window every night, light the family dinner in the house opposite. Tullio lives alone, in the dark, and the only light in his life becomes, in fact, the "light of the other house," tutelary deity from the beginning to the end of this story, in which the symbolic opposition is light-dark as fully as one of the cornerstones of Pirandello's theme, the relationship between the comforting prospect of human relationship and his own, a constant state of loneliness and lack of communication.
