The Theatre of Palazzo Grassi presents "Obsession Vezzoli" (80 ', 2016), a documentary dedicated to the artist Francesco Vezzoli, created by Alessandra Galletta, produced by Volcano in association with Marsèll and distributed in Italy by Fil Rouge Media in collaboration with the Wonder Pictures and Nexo Digital.
Singer of pop, materials investigator culture, unparalleled talent in contemporary art, Francesco Vezzoli is one of the most established Italian artists internationally. The film tells in live two years (2013-2015) of his career, documenting the background of several exhibition projects presented at museums and most prestigious contemporary art events in the world, the MAXXI Museum in Rome at the MOCA in Los Angeles, the Venice Architecture Biennale at the Pitti in Florence, from Doha Qatar Museum of Modern Art at MoMA PS1 in New York, until the Aurora Museum in Shanghai.
The narrative of the works and the most significant projects of his career is enhanced by exclusive commentary of some characters of the international culture that took part, as the French philosopher Bernard-Henri Lévy, the W Magazine Stefano Tonchi director Philippe Vergne Director MOCA in Los Angeles and Klaus Biesenbach Director of MoMA PS1 in New York.
In this film, Francesco Vezzoli is left to tell, between technique and inspiration, soul and dating sites with disparate artists, absolute icons like Lady Gaga, Cindy Sherman, Veruschka, Natalie Portman, Eva Mendes, Helmut Berger, Cate Blanchett, Sharon Stone and the stars who populated his early work, such as Mortal Coil, Franca Valeri, Valentina Cortese and Marisa Berenson.
Of each project from concept to making-of, until the Opening Official: the public can know and understand the creative process and the reasons for his success. A psychedelic journey into the mind of a creator and an opportunity to discover hidden sides of his work.
