The two legends in concert November 19 for review Cultnet

New Appointment signed Veneto Jazz at the Teatro Toniolo in Mestre. In collaboration with the Department of Culture of the Venice City Council, for review Cultnet, on stage, Saturday, November 19 (21.00), two giants of jazz history, Billy Cobham and Stanley Jordan. The legend of the battery and the legend of the guitar will create an extraordinary concert, a special project of sounds and unique arrangements, which will fly through time and which promise a high rate of spectacle.

Stanley Jordan and Billy Cobham are in fact two milestones Fusion, acclaimed worldwide.

Jordan, born in Chicago in 1959, has revolutionized the technique of electric guitar, creating the tapping, which enables use of a piano guitar. Artist in manic experimentalism has learned to transcend genres, giving the same mastery in every musical foray, he moves between pop, rock, blues and jazz with surprising agility.

Billy Cobham, born in 1944, drummer, percussionist and innovative songwriter and talented, he played with Horace Silver, Miles Davis, Randy and Michael Brecker, Carlos Santana, George Benson, Stanley Clarke, and in 1971 he co-founded with John McLaughlin the Mahavishnu Orchestra, jazz-rock band that has influenced the history of many musicians. Throughout his career he has been able to wander from one genre to another without setting a limit to his music, becoming since the 70s one of the most imitated musicians in jazz, fusion and rock.

The review Cultnet is organized by Veneto Jazz in collaboration with the Department of Cultural Activities of the Municipality of Venice, the Veneto Region and the Ministry of Heritage and Culture.
