Nighthawks is a collaborative international trio formed in Amsterdam in 2016. Inspired by the Edward Hopper painting of the same name, the band work with broad brushstrokes of sound, exploring the spaces between light and dark and seeking out colours in the cracks. They form their musical canvases with an emphasis on listening, shape, and a natural unfolding of ideas that result in music expressed sometimes with a quiet vulnerability, other times an infectious vitality, and always with an intense focus to the moment. We are Nighthawks – nocturnal creatures, peering into the gloom, soaring, dipping and diving in search of the unknown.
