It opens to the public Friday, October 28th at Ca 'Foscari the Retrospective Exhibition of Han Meilin, China's all-round artist defined his country' National Treasure 'and named in 2015 by UNESCO "Artist for Peace".
Han Meilin has chosen Venice as evocative starting point of a world tour that will take him, as well as in Europe, the Americas, the Middle East and India.

The exhibition "The World of Han Meilin", organized by the University Ca 'Foscari, the Venice International University, Italy from China Dialogue Association and the Han Meilin Foundation was set up in the exhibition spaces of Ca' Foscari Esposizioni Dorsoduro 3246 and will remain open until 28 February 2017.

"The exhibition is an excellent example to the world which has turned the focus of research and teaching cafoscarino - said Michele Bugliesi Rector of the University Ca 'Foscari - and demonstrates how knowledge does not remain crystallized in the theoretical studies but opens its door to wider use, for students, families, the business community, labor and all the public world, making available the themes of his teachings to all. "

"Han Meilin - says Chief Curator of the exhibition, Ambassador Umberto Vattani, assisted by Professor Zhao Li - has been able to create their own fantastic universe, populated by graceful creatures, or from animals interpreted according to the positive or negative characteristics attributed to them by tradition Chinese, or even with objects, inlaid woods, textiles, bronzes, made an art with roots in the past and an imaginative projection into the future. "
"We brought in Venice - continued the Ambassador Vattani - over 200 masterpieces, from the rich collections that populate the three Museums dedicatigli by the Chinese Government in Beijing, Hangzhou and Yinchuan. In all the works there is an unmistakable imprint, typical of the Master: an apology incompleteness tied to an ever changing world. He himself, in his art, a living testimony of this conception. Quote Leonardo when evokes: "Yes like s'arrugginisce iron without exercise (...), so the 'genius without exercise fails". A maxim that leads him, at age 80, to the test of a world tour that addresses because, according to him, has four times twenty years. "
For the visitor, the exhibition is an experience that captures all the senses and reveals the multiple talents of an artist who refuses befalling boundaries between one form of expression to another. In doing so, the Master inspired by the stunning, long, long history of Chinese civilization, revisited with modern eye. Not only paintings, drawings, sculptures, works of design, but also fabrics, ceramics, inlaid woods, irons and tools make the Show a trip to the inscrutable horizons of a man so versatile.

"The coming of Han Meilin in Venice - even highlighted the Ambassador Vattani -rappresenta another challenge for him and follows the inexhaustible intellectual curiosity of the artist who is also to test themselves on a material that is missing on his experience: blown glass . "
The exhibition enjoys the Patronage of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Ministry of Heritage and Culture and Tourism, the City of Venice.
