In parallel with the Architecture Biennale 2016, it is organized in the spaces of Querini Stampalia a photographic exhibition of some Venetian architecture, with photographs taken by the director and photographer Riccardo De Cal.
The twenty photographs, organized in setting devised by Melissa Siben, are partly taken from the book "Dream of Venice - Architecture" American editor JoAnn Locktov - BFP Publications, for which Riccardo De Cal oversaw the photographic side.
The book contains texts written for the occasion by leading architects, historians, theorists, critics and contemporary designers, who have been confronted in various ways with the city of Venice (Tadao Ando, Enrico Baleri, James Biber, Randy Bosch , Mario Botta, Constantin Boym, Louise Braverman, Vincenzo Casali, Francesco Da Mosto, Cynthia Davidson, Michele De Lucchi, Massimiliano Fuksas, Jonathan Glancey, Richard Goy, Frank Harmon, Guy Horton, Michael Johnson, Shun Kanda, Max Levy, Juergen Mayer H., Robert McCarter, William Menking, Richard Murphy, Louise Noelle, Dial Parrott, Valeriano Pastor, Guido Pietropoli, Carlo Ratti, Witold Rybczynski, Anne-Catrin Schultz, Annabelle Selldorf, tamassociati, Michael Welton, Thomas Woltz, Diana Yakeley, Rocco Yim).
The book, distributed by May 2016 at the international level, and that on this occasion is the catalog of the exhibition, he has already received excellent reviews by prestigious international journals, such as the US Interior Design (the April 2016).
RICCARDO DE CAL
Asolo (TV) - since 2001 realizes photographs, films and documentary films. Tied to a vital and poetic vision, in his work explores the art, the themes of architecture, music, literature. The common denominator in all work is research around the concept of "place": meaning both physical space as an interior space, a kind of transcendence and temporal abstraction. Fundamental in the visual work even sound research, which starts from natural sounds processed and synthesized up to obtain a complete abstraction.
