The pervasive 'Digital Revolution' is one of the topical issues of our time and brings with it profound changes in social, cultural, medical and scientific. Every phase of our life is undergoing profound changes and the traditional roles, as well as the stages of life, they are evolving, with consequences largely unexplored collaboration between man and machine.
The twelfth edition of the World Conference On the Future of Science will attempt to unlock the secrets of the digital age. From 22 to 24 September some of the leading international experts from various backgrounds and disciplines will come together on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore to discuss the most pressing issues that arise from this revolution; dealing from its own point of view crucial issues for the destiny of our society and addressing an audience of scientists, philosophers, theologians, industrialists, politicians, economists, journalists, students and others interested in the social, economic and scientific development of consistent policies.
"The Future of Science" is an annual series of international conferences jointly organized by the Fondazione Umberto Veronesi, the Fondazione Silvio Tronchetti Provera and the Fondazione Giorgio Cini, in order to examine the importance of scientific development as a means to improve the quality of our lives and to outline a new role of science in society of the third millennium. The idea of these meetings stems from the awareness that the problems and dilemmas generated by the inexorable scientific and technological progress are not adequately discussed in their social, economic, cultural and society seems misinformed both the technological revolution taking place, both on short and long term implications of this progress.
